This is a portrait created after a day with Karen Genard and her vintage hat collection. This is a hat tred on by Nan Iselin and she became all that the hat should be. Her eyes lit up, her shoulders went back and her attitude became vintage while she thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing dress up. I loved the look and proceeded to created this String of Pearls, named after an old 1940's song that was an instrumental and happy as can be. This portrait had won an award at the Prestigious Salmagundi Club in their members' annual show as well as an award at the National Arts Club with the Annual Juried Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Club's Exhibition .
I worked on Pastel Premier a putty color and loved the surface.
